Charter terms

1. What the charter includes

The charter covers use of the agreed vessel with a professional skipper for the agreed period. Unless the offer states otherwise, fuel within the agreed cruising area, insurance, towels and statutory safety equipment are included. Catering, additional crew, an extended cruising range and other extras are agreed separately.

2. The skipper's authority

The skipper is in command on board and has the final word on all questions of safety, navigation and the condition of the vessel. The skipper may alter the route, shorten or cancel the charter where weather, sea state, technical conditions or the conduct of those on board make it necessary. Everyone on board follows the skipper's instructions.

3. Number of guests

The number of people on board may not exceed the figure stated in the confirmation. This follows from the vessel's certificate and is not negotiable. If more people arrive than agreed, the skipper may refuse the additional guests boarding, without this giving any right to a reduction in price.

4. Arrival and duration

The charter period runs from the agreed start time, regardless of when the party actually arrives. Late arrival does not extend the charter. Please be at the quay 15 minutes before departure.

If you wish to extend the charter while under way, agree it with the skipper. Where the vessel is free and the skipper is able to, additional hours are invoiced at the agreed hourly rate.

5. Weather and safety

Charters run in all weather as long as it is safe to do so. Rain alone is not a reason to cancel, every boat has an indoor saloon.

If we cancel on safety grounds before departure, we offer either a new date or a full refund, at your choice. If the charter has to be shortened after departure on safety grounds, we refund pro rata for the hours not sailed.

6. On board

1. Please wear soft, light-soled shoes, or go barefoot. Dark soles mark the teak deck.
2. Smoking is not permitted indoors. The skipper will show you where you may smoke outside.
3. Bringing your own jet skis, drones or fireworks requires prior agreement.
4. Pets must be agreed in advance.
5. Waste is sorted and taken ashore. Nothing goes into the sea.

7. Liability for damage

The charterer is liable for damage caused to the vessel or its equipment by the party intentionally or through gross negligence. Normal wear and tear is on us. Damage arising because the skipper's instructions were not followed counts as negligent.

The charterer is responsible for their own and their guests' personal belongings. We recommend leaving valuables ashore.

8. Alcohol and drugs

Alcohol may be consumed on board by guests of legal age. The skipper may refuse boarding to anyone clearly intoxicated, or put the party ashore, where this is necessary for safety.

9. Children

Children are welcome. Children under 12 must wear a life jacket when outside while the vessel is under way. Children remain the responsibility of their guardians at all times.

10. Complaints

If something is not as agreed, tell the skipper straight away so we have a chance to put it right during the charter. Complaints raised only after the event are much harder for us to do anything about.
