Day charter on the Oslo fjord

With a whole day you can get out of the Oslo fjord entirely. Faerder lighthouse stands at the mouth, and it is a different fjord from the one you see from town.

Request a charter

You get availability and a fixed price back, from the people who own the boats. Most day charter on the oslo fjord run about 12 hours.

How far you get

With twelve hours you can reach Faerder and back. That is the mouth of the Oslo fjord, where it opens towards the Skagerrak, and the landscape changes: bare rock, less forest, and more weather.

With eight hours you reach Drobak and on to Horten or Son, with decent time ashore. Six covers Drobak and back.

What a day like that looks like

An early departure, eight or nine. The first stop is usually after an hour and a half or two, to swim or eat. Then on, another stop, and home in the afternoon or evening.

The skipper plans the route around the weather on the day, not around a programme set weeks earlier. If it blows from the south, we go inside. That is why the trip turns out better than it would on a fixed route.

Bring

Food for the whole day, and more clothing than you think. There is no galley on board, and twelve hours is a long time to be hungry. Sunscreen, even under cloud: the reflection off the water catches people every year.

Who it suits

Families who want a day together, friends who want to get away, and companies doing something bigger than an afternoon out. It suits small children poorly, as they tend to be finished after two hours.

More than a day

Longer trips are possible. The boats can be chartered along the coast by arrangement, and then it becomes a question of overnight stops and quite different planning. Get in touch and we will set it up together.

The boats you can pick from

We own all three ourselves. One price, and the person answering you has been on board.

Common questions

How far can we get in a day?

Twelve hours reaches Faerder and back. Eight hours gives Drobak and on to Horten or Son. Six covers Drobak.

Do we need to bring food?

Yes. There is no galley on board, and twelve hours is a long time. Bring more clothing than you think, too.

Can we decide the route?

You say what you want to see, and the skipper plans the day around the weather. If it blows from the south, we go inside. That call is his.

Can we charter for several days?

Yes, by arrangement, and then along the coast. It requires planning overnight stops. Get in touch and we will set it up together.
